Donations from the Thukhuma Collection

Opening: April 10, 2019
Founders Memorial Library, Lower Level
Picture

The Center for Burma Studies welcomes professor Ian Holliday, vice-president and pro-vice-chancellor (Teaching and Learning) at the University of Hong Kong, and owner of the Thukhuma art collection. He generously donated 29 paintings made by contemporary artists from Myanmar to the Burma Art Collection, which is housed at NIU.

The paintings represent various artistic perspectives as artists respond to current concerns regarding Myanmar’s political, economic and cultural transition.
