From the Asia Society Museum:
The first exhibition in the West focused on works of art from collections in Myanmar and the United States. The exhibition comprises approximately 70 spectacular works from Myanmar and American collections -including stone, bronze, and wood sculptures; textiles; paintings; and lacquer ritual implements- from the fifth through the early twentieth century and includes objects created for temples, monasteries, and personal devotion. Many of the works in the exhibition have never been shown outside of Myanmar. Several objects from the Center for Burma Studies collection were on display within the exhibit. Curated by Sylvia Frasier-Lu, Donald M. Stadtner, and Adriana Prosner |
