This image is seated on a waisted throne, a popular design in Burma. The band between the hair and the forehead, the arched eyebrows, downcast eyes, and puffy upper lip are all common features on Buddha sculptures during the 17th and 18th centuries. Other features comprise prominent neck rings, fingers of the same length, and lightly designed robes that cover one shoulder. The depiction of the Buddha's hair in rows, rather than as individual curls, is an innovation of this period.
