CONFERENCE INFORMATION
 
 
CONFERENCE FEE FOR MEALS:
$200.00 ($220.00 after September 1, 2012).
Includes 2 continental breakfasts; 2 lunches; 3 receptions; and 2 banquet dinners with entertainment.  Fee for full-time students is $50.00.  Final date to order conference meals is September 1, 2012.
 
LODGING (must be arranged directly by registrant):
A block of rooms has been reserved until September 5, 2012 for Burma Studies Conference participants in the hotel tower of the Holmes Student Center, Northern Illinois University, the building in which the conference will be held. 
 
Single or Double occupancy - $65.00 a night; to reserve a room, call 815-753-1444 or go to their website http://www.niu.edu/hsc/hotelinfo/index.shtml  Please state that you are attending the Burma Studies Conference. Reservations are not held after 6:00 p.m. unless notified.
 
Local Hotels/Motels include: These are off-campus and you will have to provide your own transportation to and from conference hall.  Go to the following website for information on these hotels/motels and area information:

TRANSPORTATION (must be arranged directly by registrant):
Direct public transportation is not available between Chicago and DeKalb, IL or the Chicago Airports and Northern Illinois University.  Transportation from the Chicago Airports (O’Hare and Midway) is available through limousine service:

Single passenger - $98.50 one way to O’Hare or $108.50 to Midway Airport (additional $10.00 for each additional person)

Single passenger - $100.00 one way (additional $10.00 for each additional person)
 
After arrival at O’Hare, claim your luggage and call the toll free number provided above so that the pre-arranged car and driver can come from the limousine waiting area to get you within approximately 10 minutes. Banks of telephones are available in the baggage claim area. The limousine service monitors all flights so there is no need to contact them in case your flight is delayed - even for international flights. Allow 1 hour and fifteen minutes for the trip.
Suggestion: Keep this sheet of information with your airplane ticket.
