The 10th International Burma Studies Conference was held at Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Illinois from Friday, October 5 - Sunday, October 7, 2012.
​
The Center also hosted a series of cultural events in conjunction with the Conference.
We invited papers on all aspects of Burma Studies including:  anthropology, art history, environment, health, history, literature, linguistics, music, political science, popular culture, religions, and area studies.  Panels and papers were devoted primarily to new research, including recent events in Burma. 
Sponsored by the Center for Burma Studies and the Graduate School of Northern Illinois University.
